iTunes problem???

Ok I'm trying to down load the newer Safari and iTunes 9.0.1. It has been trying to down load it for about 45min and it is staying in the same spot. Last night when I tried to download them it came up with an error that says it was unable to.
Can anybody help with this problem? I have updated before with no problems, soI really don't know what the problem is this time.

the Apple Software update sometimes has problems downloading applications. I would try going to the apple website and downloading the installers there.

Yeah, I had to uninstall iTunes and reinstall it to get it to 9
