I do use it quite a bit, but it's not very convenient for texting.
How was the concert?
I do use it quite a bit, but it's not very convenient for texting.
Actually, it is something you have to get used to, but I like having my phone in the podium on the coffee table so I can respond to pings and SMS, and Facebook.
It was definitely awkward at first, but now I kinda like how it feels and it also reminds me of an iPhone commercial (how they show hands on the phone, but the phone never moves because it's mounted), but in first person.

It was awesome. Got to meet Nicole, and she convinced me to come to her show in Chicago tomorrow.

Lincoln... and this goes for everyone. You can tell the difference with the New iMacs from looking at the bottom of the screen just above the Apple Logo.
The old iMacs are rounded off, and the it still has a aluminum edge around the screen.
The New iMacs screens are square at the bottom, and the screen goes all the way from one side to the other (no aluminum edge).
Pics for looks.

It's a 76 key synth-action. It's actually kind of a piece of crap as far as actual playing is concerned, but I like the controls when playing live.
The desk I've had since my sophmore year of college (12 years now). It's moved 4 times and is seriously falling apart. My basement floor is uneven as well, so it's leaning noticeably. Everything is held together with L-brackets. But it suits me so well I don't have the heart to ditch it. That and the fact that real studio desks are probably the most overpriced furniture on the planet.
But thank you anyway! :ok:ok

The thing I like about my room most is how quiet it is and how great it sounds. I can hear things at home that I miss at work... it's a great second room to reference mixes. I took great pains to move the computer and drives over to the laundry room with tethers over here to mimimize noise. You can see the (unwrapped at the moment) tether in the corner of the room.
Even though I don't do much acoustic recording here (all that is done at the real studio), it's the best for monitoring to not have fans anywhere nearby.

a room full of white furniture would drive me nuts...
I love the color white... shoes, shirts, shorts, cars (sometimes), but when it comes to very large things in white, like rooms, houses, etc, I can't stand it. I too would go nuts in a big white room.

I love it. Something about pure white is very sleek, sterile and clean along with being futuristic.
I Wish this credit crunch never would have happened. If things went as planned i'd be moving into the 43rd floor of 56 Leonard (aka Jenga) in Tribeca NYC right around this time.

I like everything within arm's reach. I don't work with anything physical, only digital data... so I need my tools for proper manipulation nearby.
Autostitch distortion. They are regular 12 oz. cans.
Even though I don't do much acoustic recording here (all that is done at the real studio), it's the best for monitoring to not have fans anywhere nearby.
so all your channels are plugged in as apposed to free recording with a mic in a corner?

Went with the 21.5. I was looking at the 27, but I decided I really don't need that much extra screen real estate, and the additional cash wasn't worth just being able to use it as a monitor.
that's pretty much how my thought process went. The 27 would barely fit on my already crowded desk, although I'm sure I would have found a way to fit it in :ok:ok with the 27" not providing much over the 21.5" (unless you go with the quad core) other than the screen real estate I decided to go with the 1 TB 21.5". So far not regretting the decision at all.

It has two shelves below. They are big enough for a computer, but not a printer. My Dad and I built the pine printer stand. The two posts behind the monitor are for the monitor shelf, which I don't use.

^ It's ergonomically correct and available in a variety of colors. :)
You'd really have to be into Star Wars to sport the Tie Fighter desk.

Someone correct me if I am wrong since I am not a photography guy but this looks like a picture taken with a certain type of lens, no?

It does kind of look like a fisheye lens, but all other lines in the photo are not warped at all. Besides, I've seen this elsewhere... it actually does look like that.

Look at he dock in the window, assuming it is in the center just like it should be, the there is a lot more spare room on the left than the right..
I think this would be awesome if it was real though.

I Dont see the "analog sound board" but i see the little thing where you can control pitch and gain?? im not sure.

I don't mix analog anymore. I used to work at a studio with a big desk (we have one here that my boss mixes on), but nowadays I'm working fully "in the box". The control surface in the middle is an assignable bank of 8 motorized faders for doing level rides, where it's nice to have physical control. But I'm using 90% software processors in my mixes with a few key pieces of analog hardware thrown in for their specific character.

is there any difference in quality or sound?

Traditionally, yes... analog has trumped digital. Nowadays the playing field is much more level, and it really depends more on the engineer's comfort level with his tools. Some will claim analog summing sounds better than crunching numbers to make a mix, but they will often fail to correctly identify an analog mix in a double blind test.
Personally, I think digital summing and EQ sounds great with modern plugins and software. Dynamics (compression) still has the edge in the analog domain, and dynamics are a huge part of that "pro" sound. I have some digital compressors that sound pretty good and that I use in every mix, but most of my analog inserts in a mix are for compression purposes. All of the mastering we do here after the mix also has analog processing in the chain.
