I have synced my new 3GS twice now and it does not ask me if I want to sync my photoes to the computer and also does not ask me if I want to delete them from the iphone. How do I get there?

Yes, there is. Connect your iPhone to your computer and click on it in the source list on the left. You'll see a Summary screen in the main pane to the right with 10 tabs across the top - the last tab is Photos, which is where the check box dturner showed is:

Thank you macgirl, I did find the 10 tabs across the top and thought I had found it! BUT, that syncs my pictures from my computer TO my iphone, it doesn't take my pictures from my iphone TO my computer and then delete the photos from the phone. Now I know I didn't do this right because I didn't read it, just clicked on it. It offered to sync my pictures from "my pictures" on the computer, so now I have double the photos on my iphone!. You are working with a greatgrandmother who is not as quick as I should be. Thank you, now what?

Ah, now I understand what you need. I'm sorry I misunderstood and hope you did not lose all of the pictures on your iPhone.

What is the destination folder selected here (where it says iPhoto in this image)?

5668

The pictures on your iPhone should have synced to that folder. Use Explorer to find that folder and check it.

Mine doesn't say sync photos from : iPhoto

It says sync photos from : Pictures

all folders
selected folders
include videos

and I cannot change it, doesn't offer me anything else

Nope, it wouldn't say iPhoto since that is an application on Macs only.

Are the pictures and videos captured with your iPhone now in that Pictures folder on your PC?

PhotoBooth will transfer the pictures from your iPhone to your computer and remove them from your phone, but I don't know about Windows application. You can try using the Scanners and Camera wizard. I think that will import pictures and remove them from your phone for you - then again, I have never tried that approach since I use PhotoBooth... If you connect your phone to your computer (minimize iTunes if it opens automatically). A small window should pop up with questions as to what you would like to do (open files, import pictures, whatever); I have only briefly seen this window and disregarded it immediately as I had no need for it. I hope this helps in some way

On some computers the camera and fax wizard doesn't auto open when the phone is connected. Go to Windows Photo Gallery (Start >>in your programs list). Connect your phone and click File>Import from Camera or Scanner> a box should pop up and you should see your iPhone in the devices list. Sounds as if iTunes auto syncs when you connect so let it do that..then you can try this method.
Name the folder so you can have an idea what is there because they will just be grouped by date whenever you pull pics off the cameral roll. After you get them on the computer you can just view the pics on the iphone and hit the garbage can icon at the bottom to delete them off the phone.

Hi macgirl,

Sorry I am late in answering but have had to be away from home all afternoon and going to be away all day tomorrow. I will get back with you probably Sunday. I really do appreciate your help and want to answer about the file. Thank you so much,
Janet
