Performance Issues [Archive]

Hey everybody,

Ever since the 3.1 update, I've noticed some ongoing performance issues with my phone (16gb 3G). It seems very slow, needs more frequent restarts and has some issues with freezing. I am wondering, if I do a restore with iTunes, will that fully format the phone first? Also, does anyone have suggestions as to why this may be happening and if there are any other probable solutions.

Restore could get u back up to par.

I had a 3G....very slow after using a couple of apps...got myself an 3GS...everything is more than fine again...:dft012:wink

The 3.1 update seems to not like the 3G much. Lots of problems reported concerning the 3G and 3.1.

Personally I would restore before updating the OS to Windows 7 just to avoid adding any more variables before the restore. You should probably restore as new device for a fresh start. Make sure your contacts are backed up to an external program like Yahoo, Windows Address Book, Outlook, etc. You will lose any app data like calendar and game scores. Sync content back to iPhone....THEN update to Windows 7
