i was checking t-mobile services and comparing them to AT&T. i also checked which one is more reliable. everyone's saying how much cheaper t-mobile is, but since AT&T is more reliable i checked out what i could make of it.
would this (http://www.wireless.att.com/cell-phone-service/cart/) work normally?
i picked that phone just because it was free. i would take the sim out and put it in my iphone.

I'm not quite sure what your question is. Are you asking if you can use a T-Mobile SIM in an iPhone and disable the data plan?

no. that's an at&t plan. and you know how you pay like 80 dollars for an at&t plan, well i set up this plan with them and i wanted to know if it would work because i think the reason why it costs so much is because of the more minutes they add on the plan by default. get what i'm saying?

I think it's completely inaccurate to pan one provider over another with a blanket statement such as "more reliable", "better", etc. It depends on TONS of factors. For instance, T-Mobile 3G here in the DC area BLOWS AWAY AT&T's 3G here, in terms of speed. Calls are dropped more on AT&T than T-Mobile. Depends on many factors.

okay so which should i get? would i just check the coverage. i think both work very well around my area, but the prices are different of course. with the t-mobile plan that would work, it's about 65 a month and if the one i posted works for at&t then that's about the same. hmmm.... i'm tempted to go with t-mobile (web2go, right?) because it's 4 dollars cheaper, but which is better in your opinion?

You won't get the plan for that price. The iPhone data plan is a completely separate animal. It's $30 a month for the iPhone data and $20 a month for unlimited texting. Once you put your SIM card into the iPhone and it registers on the AT&T network, your features-to-phone won't match up and AT&T will either switch your features to match the iPhone plan, call you and inform you you need to change features or bill you additional charges.

Have you considered using a prepaid T-Moblile SIM? Your monthly charges will be zero. You just refill minutes as needed. No data plan. You can use GV and Skype to minimize how many minutes you're actually using, and free texting apps.
If you really want to save money, that's the way to go.

When you have no data plan, that makes no difference. ;)

No. There is no data available on prepaid SIM's. You don't have to worry about disabling it, the phone won't pick it up. He would still have WiFi.

no i wouldn't want a prepaid sim. i was just wondering if there was a cheaper service or something that has everything because i think the reason why it's 80 dollars a month is due to the minute amount rate.

It'll depend on where you are, but around here 3g is about 4x faster than edge.
there's a thread for that and they're saying that t-mobile edge isn't that bad, but i'd have to check my area...
what exactly does this (http://www.t-mobileg1.com/3G.aspx#) mean in my case?
Europa

It doesn't matter if you have 3G T-Mobile service available in your area. The iPhone doesn't operate on the frequency their 3G network uses, so it will not work. You'll have to disable 3G and use Edge. Egde is noticeably slower.
