Is there a "mobile site" that makes iCafe a bit easier to view on the iphone's browser? YEah, the "full internet" is nice....however, I hate zooming in and out to see posts and stuff.

There are three versions of the forum:

Full site
Ad-free iPhone optimized full site
iPhone version

The main blog does not currently have an iPhone version, but it's in the works.

Somewhere down the line, I'd like to get an App created, but have not reached out to any developers yet.

i used the light version over the weekend while i was gone and though i didnt post but a few times i found it very user friendly. its almost not worth making an app unless you have popup notifications for subscribed threads and then it would be a crazy popup nearly every minute.

I also wouldn't waste the resources on an app for a web forum like this. Just send us all more gift cards. :ok:ok

I think it would be cool to have a slick app with buttons on the bottom that could access latest news, latest forum posts and possibly more.

Yeah, but you can do all that with a nicely-coded web interface. Not saying the current iPhone template is bad, but it could be better...

I just don't see what a native app really gains you over a properly-designed web interface, except maybe offline viewing.

Dave,
I am not sure if you are talking about only the forums or the whole site, but I really like the TUAW app, categories up top, related articles below. I don't even read the article via twitter app, i just open the TUAW app. Thats my 2 cents about native app.

I guess I am only talking about the forums, as they're the only thing with an iPhone interface at this point. But if that interface was tweaked and included the rest of the site, I'm not sure how a native app would improve upon that.

I think the interface for the forums gets the job done for me, fast, too. It's super easy to navigate around the forums. My only gripe about it is to get to, then view, the subscribed threads can be a little difficult.

That's the easiest thing to do... just hit "My Settings" or "User CP" (depending on your template) at the top and the page you'll get is your subscribed threads in order from newest post.
