Ordered a Vaja case from Cases.com a week ago. I got the Black/red limited edition. I got some chocolate on the case... when trying to rub it off
the black dye on the case came off, I now have a grey and black and red case ! I called Cases .com to explain this... they said tough, my fault, too bad. You'd think for a 100.00$ case it would hold up better or the company I bought it from would stand behind the product they sell !

I got an email from Vaja, they do not stand behind their products. According to
Vaja, if your case gets dirty... too bad

Dear Charles,

From your email below and what you explained to our representative today, was that you got something sticky on your case and tried to wash it off with soap and water. Unfortunately, this cannot be covered under warranty. Quoting from our company policies (http://www.cases.com/policies.htm):
>>…limited warranty does not cover defects from product misuse, product neglect, product abuse, product tampering, product alterations and unauthorized product repairs…<< What you did falls under product tampering and therefore is not covered under warranty. You should have contacted our company or Vaja beforehand to find out what the proper care for your leather product should be.

Vajacases.com has a very detailed explanation on leather care for their products:
http://www.vajacases.com/leather_tips/our_leather_en.html (http://www.vajacases.com/leather_tips/our_leather_en.html)
click on “care” tab, see specific handling instructions under “water” tab and general care maintenance. Unfortunately, your approach to washing the case with soap and water is exactly what you should not have done.

At this time, I would suggest to contact vajacases.com and ask for suggestions on how you can “fix” your case. I hope they can provide some recommendations for you.

Thank You,
Anna Pupko

this is the reply... do not use water on leather to clean ??
anybody else have problems cleaning a Vaja case ?
This is the response from Cases.com
this is what Vaja has to say..

Charles,
Bear in mind the leather used is genuine, it means it has pores, and it breathes. This is why it should not get in contact with any substance or liquid at all that may turn hazardous. This is clearly explained in our site, in the leather care section.
Our Product Department considered the case has been exposed to use circumstances and not proper maintenance and this is the reason why it has reacted that way. Thus, the product cannot be considered are defective, and we cannot apply our quaility warranty this time.
What a load !!
My "genuine" leather car seats clean up pretty good !

Unreasonable to expect them to fix a case you damaged for free.
