maybe its just me but if my iphone can withstand the trecherous pocket with nothing in it, then its not even worth having..

sure theres alwasy the risk of dropping and damaging it, but im just damn careful i dont drop it. i only put it in a case if im going to the gym, otherwise its needlessly bulky

<=================thinks holsters make people look like geeks. Cases might be sensible but they don't fit in pockets very well.

Same for me - I don't use a case and the iPhone is fine. I am careful to be sure that the pocket that it goes into has nothing else in it, not even a Kleenex (don't want to get the iPhone all dusty).

I go caseless as well. I keep it in my pocket with nothing else. I almost dropped it today at the coffee house. I bobbled it up into the air and caught it about a foot from the floor. The guy next to me looked at me, then at the phone and said good catch with a look of horror on his face.

I have a Belkin Slim-Fit case...

I love it.

my past phones have looked like crap due to not using a case so I think I'll leave this one in this case for a while... =]

I'm not a complete spaz, so I don't keep it in a case. I treat it like it's a $600 piece of expensive equipment which helps me from acting like a herky-jerky freak and dropping it (just watch... I'll drop it tomorrow *knocks on wood*)

Belkin clear case was scratching the chrome bezel, so now go caseless. Bestskinsever will arrive shortly to help protect it.

I keep my iPhone naked. Haven't dropped it or scratched it yet, i should be more careful with it but i havent seen a good enough case for me to keep it in

I just put mines in the side way pouch I had bulky cases as well but, I do need a place to put it. In the pass I tend to put my phone in my lap while in the car then i'd forget it was there and you know what happened when i went to get out... So I always need a holster.

I have a CaseMate Signature case due to show up any day now. For the time being, I've been using the pouch my 60Gb iPod came with. It's a good fit and protects the phone while in my pocket.

I'm not using a case, currently. I haven't dropped the phone once, either. Although, I would like to get one of these:

Incase Molded Rubber Case (http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/wa/RSLID?mco=DEE1ABF3&nplm=TN563LL/A)

Anyone used this product, and how does it fair? One of the reviews on the site says it scratched up the chrome rim around the phone.....confirm? deny?

Confirm. That seems to be a problem of any of the surround cases. If any debris from your pocket gets into the case, it scratches the iPhone.

Incidentally, incase was aware of the issue as it's stated on their product info that it needs to be periodically cleaned to avoid scratches.

The fundamental issue I have with going caseless is that in my line of work I don't wear jeans. And given the mass of the iPhone, it would have a tendency to slide out of my pocket when sitting/standing. The worst case (pun not intended) scenario for that is entering/exiting a car. The iPhone has a rather smooth finish with little friction.

I got the incase protective case just to keep it sliding out of my pocket. But I now do my laundry with my pockets turned out. ;)

Seems like it would be better to just keep it naked, then.
I'd rather the "chance" of scratches, in case I drop it, than "definite" scratches, if I put it in a case that's supposed to stop that.

Mine has been nekked and floating around in my pocket since iDay. One small tiny scratch on the Apple logo n the back and some very very small scratches on the chromer on the front. Thats it.

I have ordered the Best Skins Ever though. They should be here soon.

Just iCrystal Screen Protector, you would never know its there, but if it gets scratched, I just peel it off, stick another on there. I think of it as my $15 insurance plan that only covers scratches.

I had that incase skin and then read the post of someones phone getting all scratche up..

surely enough, i took mine out and saw the beginnings of wear on the bottom chrome part.. the thing that pisses me off is that its definately not enough for them to go OH NO, let me replace that, but I still got scratches on my phone now from the case they sold me.

Caseless here. It goes in my pocket 95% of the time. I do have a case for for the 5% of the time I need to put it in a bag with other stuff. Also, the camera case I recently bought came with a free passport holder, and it just happens to be the perfect size, so when it's in my camera bag, it goes in the passport holder.

BTW, I have dropped it once. Just over the weekend we were riding in the car and I had in on my lap while I was looking for something in the glove box (I was the passenger, NOT driving)... Going around a turn it slid off my lap and fell in between the seat and the console and then "clunked" down under the seat. Hubby and I just looked at each other for a moment.

I dug it out from under the seat and it was fine :) -- *phew*

haha, yeah I had this happen, too. I just didn't really count it as dropping it, 'cause it landed on carpet, and no damage at all.
I baby my iPhone so much, I actually bother to slip it in my pocket, before I stand up out of the car, just to avoid the slim chance of dropping it. I actually put it back in my pocket, after every time I use it.
