You've probably already heard about this, but this is news to me and this is really great because I do need the numberpad on my MacBook Pro most of the time but it is no where to be found. I hope it supports Windows (Boot Camp) because I only need it when I am on Windows playing games >_>.

Turns your iPhone/iPod touch into a numeric keypad for your notebook.

Wouldn't it be useful if your notebook computer had a numeric keypad? The NumberKey does just that! The NumberKey turns your iPhone/iPod touch into a portable numeric keypad so you can use it at your home, office, and even when you're on-the-go.
To use NumberKey, you must install "NumberKey Connect" to your computer. The "NumberKey Connect" can be downloaded from below.

(It does work with Windows, yay!)

System Requirements

iPhone/iPod touch : iPhone OS version 2.2.1 or later
Mac computer : MacOS version 10.5 or 10.4 ( Operate WiFi )
Windows computer : Vista or XP ( Operate WiFi )

How would you like to have one of these?
It's only a $4,148 starting price.

Very nice, but I'd ditch that for my MacBook Pro ;).

Nice find, Tarek.

Personally, I use a desktop for all my major work I do online, so I have a keyboard that has the numeric keypad. My laptop is on my desk, too, but it's not my workhorse. When I use my laptop it's when I'm laying in bed or on the sofa or something, in which case this app would just be awkward to use. lol

Lol yeah I love laying on the bed and using my laptop. Ever since I bought this MBP, I wanted to buy a big Apple screen (21"+), and Apple keyboard & mouse and connect them to my laptop and use it as a desktop computer; then unplug it and take it with me if I want it some where else. So that's like having an iMac and a MacBook Pro all-in-one. What do you think? The problem is that all Apple accessories are really expensive here. If I am going to ignore the Apple screen and buy the keyboard & mouse only (which cost around $200 or more here) and connect the laptop to a regular LCD screen (like the 19" Samsung widescreen that I have) I'll be forced to buy the converter video cable, which costs a hell lot here, around $150 alone.

I guess I am going to have to hold that idea till I travel some where where Apple accessories are sold for cheap, hehe.

That is a good idea, Tarek. I'd look into getting a docking station for your Macbook though. I don't think Apple manufacturers them themselves; however, you can find third-party ones online. This would be ideal because you don't have to worry about unplugging/disconnecting everything from the Macbook when you want to pick it up and go. All you would need it to pop it out of the dock.

Perfect!

Yes, that's pretty decent, thanks. Thing is, if I close the lid, wouldn't it sleep? And if it didn't, I can't let it run while the lid is closed because it would literally burn you know. It already gets hot when I am running Windows (I think the fans don't work like they're supposed to on Boot Camp) but on Macintosh it's very fine but it's still dangerous to run it while the lid closed. It might also burn the screen and the keyboard, so.. that would suck. Do you have any idea about this? I really want to know this but I am not sure if I am able to explain my point clearly.

How would it burn anything? When you shut the lid, the back-lit keyboard and LCD screen would turn off. I know definitely in Windows you can control what action the operating system takes when the lid is shut (i.e., change it to "Do Nothing"), so I'm sure there would be a setting for that in the Macintosh OS. Jeeze, I hope so or Microsoft has Apple beat there! Also, what difference would it make if the lid is shut or not as to it running hot? Your fans blow out from the bottom/sides of the laptop, not up through the keyboard.... Shutting the lid while in use should have no negative effects....

Actually the fans blow out from right above the keyboard to, I think mostly. That's the problem. I've seen many pictures of MacBooks that melted (keyboards & stuff) because of that. :(

Tarek, your Mac doesn't sleep when you shut the lid?

It does. But how is it supposed to work when I connect it to an external screen while it is SLEEPING after shutting the lid off?

What?! Seriously? Is that a flaw in the design or just yours that is like that. That is the stupidest engineering I've ever heard of if they designed them that way...

That's how it is designed.

Wow, Apple definitely screwed that up.
