Hey guys,
I've been searching the forums for a few days and haven't found a post that definitively answered my questions. I'm sorry if this has been answered elsewhere. I decided to prematurely jailbreak my phone (blackra1n) without answering the questions. While I'm not ready for a restore yet, I don't know what is going to happen when they release an update or what not.
1) Clearly a restore will remove everything from the iPhone. Will my applications remain within iTunes so that I can synchronize them back to the phone? Will contacts remain ok?
2) Are there any applications that will manage the copying of information from all third party apps, without me having to do anything?
3) Are there any guides that clearly outline the easiest way to get information back to the iPhone after it has been restored? Again, this is merely preventative questions, in case I have to restore due to being jailbroken.
I will also use this thread as I come up with more questions... seriously tired, can't think!

Yes your applications will remain in iTunes, your contacts, wherever you have them sync'd to will also be intact.

If you restore from back-up your settings will be put back on to your phone.
3) Are there any guides that clearly outline the easiest way to get information back to the iPhone after it has been restored? Again, this is merely preventative questions, in case I have to restore due to being jailbroken.
There are various guides, but you simply need to restore from back-up. If you've done major modifications through SSH and Cydia then they may come back to your phone from the back-up. So undo anything you have done then sync your phone before you restore it then back-up from your latest back-up (if you get what I mean)

You will be absolutely fine :ok:ok

Besides package installs, I haven't really done anything through Cydia... I've connected via OpenSSH just to make sure it works, but besides that all I've been tinkering with are Cydia applications as well as Winterboard themes...
So Create Backup -> Restore -> Sync (Apps + Contacts will sync over) -> Restore backup? Pictures, Music, everything will go over fine?

punkrulz its more like
sync iphone -> start restore -> it will back everything up -> then it will restore -> done restoring -> restore from "whatever you named your iphone" -> it will restore your settings -> it finishes restoring -> sync your iphone to get all your stuff back -> enjoy your restored unjailbroken iphone
edit** if there is an update available for the iphone when you click restore, it will download the update in itunes and update the iphone as it restores it.
if you wish to restore without updating, let me know through a messege or email me @ runingbck31@aim.com and i will show you how to do it (i dont want to type instructions if you wind up not needing them)

From my experience (sometimes frustrating ones), iTunes will not back up apps from Cydia; which is fine and understandable. For the Cydia apps, get AptBackup. I only mention this because I didn't see this noted above... Aside from that, the above steps should answer all questions.
