I do finger exercises that include, but are not limited to, typing, mouse clicking, right mouse clicking, scrolling, and short wrist rotation. I also make sure to lean back in my chair to crack my back every couple hours and look away from the monitor to do some quick blinking exercises. During lunch I make sure to do a lot of arm movement where I lift sustenance to my face orifice. Lastly I walk to my car to drive home where I go right back to getting ripped with finger exercises. I'm trying to stay healthy and not overwork myself because you can easily overdo it and pull a muscle or get carpel tunnel.

Where's pds (http://www.everythingicafe.com/forum/members/projectdarkside.html) when you need him? He hasn't posted since before computerfox joined.

I've started working out lately. Not for lengthy amounts of time but just as much as I feel I need to do for that day.

I used to but I got bored and lazy. Why?

The same thing happened to me over the past few months.

I was swimming from the shore to the red island early in the summer though.

I need to get back into working out. It's just really hard to find the time. ;)

I noticed PDS had gone AWOL recently too. Maybe busy with school? hmm

I work out, play soccer regularly to keep fit and then lift free weights for toning. I dont like the "too big" look, or the "no body fat" look. Just toned.

Treadmill for 5min doing tabata intervals. (warm up walking 2min) then start the tabata intervals. Full sprint 30seconds, then walk 10seconds, then sprint 30seconds, then walk 10seconds. Repeat until 5min are up. Cool down walking until you have completely calmed down.
Can be done on a Excersize Bike/fan bike/treadmill or running outside.

After that. 5 min of pushups, Squats, crunches and then on the floor or a yoga matt and do 5min of some stretching yoga and thats it. Its always good to stretch properly when the body is "awake" or limber so you dont hurt yourself.

Best asana to practice are:
uttanasana
paschimottanasana
adho mukha svanasana
bhujangasana
and lastly Savasana ( this is optional but you'll like this one) (Try not to fall asleep this asana takes the longest at 30min) If i have time, i do this...if i dont ill do it before brushing my teeth and going to bed).

You can take a class and learn how to do these and then replicate at home, or look online.

Do 5 days out of the week. Takes 15min of your life's busy schedule and can be done without any special gizmo, weights and machines. You will feel better (especially those with back pain from poor posture in a computer chair/office chairs and those with poor circulation).

I work out in the gym for approximatley 2 hours a day, 5 days a week.

Mondays, Wednesdays & Thursdays - upper body and some cardio.

Tuesdays and Thursdays - lower body and a lot of cardio.

I'm not going to get into details because my workout regiment is customized for me and my diet.

Once you get it going, it becomes part of your lifestyle and it doesn't become a chore anymore and you will do anything to fit it into your schedule because of the high it gives you after each workout. The most important aspect of seeing results is your diet. You can workout as hard as humanly possible but if you're eating bad, you're not going to see the results you're striving for as quickly as you want and this is one of the main reasons why people fall off. Don't get discouraged and be consistant.

has anyone heard of zen yoga? it looks really cool and relaxing and people say you can burn a bunch of calories from it.

Yoga asana makes you burn alot of calories and it helps the body correct its own problems such as poor circulation, limberness, flexibility, stretching, breathing, immune system.

Some people dont get it, but Asana is good for you. I think of it like this. Our bodys are upright 90% of the time. Thats great and all, but gravity can be quite mean. Using Yoga or other calming practices such as TaiChi can help they body maintain a healthier state.
I highly recommend someone who spends most of their day sitting down, or in an office to try taichi or Yoga. Your posture, and health will benefit.

Well We learn by instruction, and you want to do it correctly. Take a class or a few, get a group of friends and try out a class. I dont know how much it'll cost but dont pay anything that requires membership to a gym, or some crazy price. Certain places have it for free just gota look around.

The motions or videos are online, or in pictures online.

You can try looking for videos on youtube. There are MANY places with detailed charts of each asana posture.

Its not bad, but you should do all strenuous activity before calming down to do the yoga.

Im glad you enjoy it!!! Trust me in a week you will notice changes.

My workout partner is always with me to keep me from getting bored at the gym, my iPhone, I keep it stocked with my fav movies and music, plenty of playlists to motivate me, all of which makes the workout routine into quite a Zen like experience.
