So here's my quick story. I bought the metallic case by more that's advertised here on eiC. I like it. I then bought Motion X's GPS drive program. My signal was dropping all over the place. Through a few conversations with the dev, we discovered my GPS was faulty in my 3GS. I went to Apple and got a new 32GB 3GS.
On the way home, I had the same problem, though the signal was a little better. Then 2 days ago I switched back to the crown case I bought for 1/3 of the cost of the More case. Now, I get a signal right away, and it never drops.
In summary, I got a new phone b/c of a case it would appear. If you're having problems w/your signal, GPS, etc, try a different case, or go naked. :)
