iTunes 9 downloaded now app store won't work

I downloaded iTunes version 9 and now I can't access the app store. I've checked my account details through the internet and it's still there. I've re-authorised my computer. I can access the app store on my iphone but I can't download larger files or purchase any music or apps. I've checked that my internet connection is working. I keep getting the message that "App store cannot be accessed, check to see if your internet connection is working." Any suggestions?

Usually this kind of thig can be attributed to a software firewall blocking the program from accessing the Internet.

Do you have security software installed? Which one(s)?

Thanks for the reply. I'm using Mozilla as my browser and I'm using Norton 360 as my security. I have turned off Windows Firewall. I'm not sure how change the security on Mozilla, because I haven't been using it very long. I stopped using Windows Explorer because I received a virus during one of my download sessions (not appple related). Any thoughts on what could be wrong? I have also reinstalled iTunes and I still get the same message.

The first thing I would check is the setting for iTunes in the Norton360 firewall. More than likely it's the culprit.

I heard that itunes 9 is the latest version and there is a serial key for this which you need to enter before using it. Did you look for that key?

itunes does not require any type of serial key.

i am having this issue now and any i mean ANY help possible would be much appreciated. I have no firewall block on itunes...

Is it not downloading from the apple software update program?

If so, just download it from the apple website. www.iTunes.com
