Power off app?

Hello,

Does anyone know if there is an app that replaces the power off switch at the top of the iPhone? Something that you can just tap and will power down the phone. Thanks!

That would be a great idea, less wear and tear on the sleep button.

Apple will not allow non-Apple processes to run in the background such as a shut-down process. I've heard that if you JB, there are apps that can be installed to do such. I miss the app I had on my Q9h that would shut it down nightly while it recharged. I'm not ready to venture into that minefield since Apple keeps making it harder and harder for non-stock phones to be updated, etc..

If you jailbreak, installing one of the various tap to unlock themes in Cydia will also add a tap to answer and a tap to power off.

There are quite a few apps that do this, get yourself Jailbroken and explore Cydia.

i have one, pretty much does what it says.

ive gotten laughed at plenty of times for being lazy, but its a big difference in gestures, love it. it does take some getting used to though.

You can use the Cydia app mQuickDo to lock your iPhone with a gesture, but it may be a little bit like killing a fly with a sledgehammer.

In my point of view, there never can be such kind of application. If your power button does not work, then please make it repaired by taking your iphone to an apple service center.

As previously mentioned, there are lots of apps, available through cydia.

There both very easy to use.
