Just got it before, some good changes just wish that you could have the black theme from the original tweetie on this new version.

I'm hearing really good things about Tweetie 2. So far, they say it's fancy and it shows that the app has been reworked from the ground up.
Here's how Twitterville is reacting: http://www.twitscoop.com/search?tweetie

Wait - no push notifications for mentions and DMs? Shoot. Think I'll wait until this feature is added and keep using SimplyTweet until then...

Echofon Pro supports push. $4.99
Or, you could get Boxcar which supports Facebook, Twitter and E-mail push. $2.99

Simplytweet FTW. Tweetie waited way too long to issue and update. No,wait. They really never issued an update. Decided to create a new app instead and ask previous owner to pay again. No thanks. Very, very bad PR.

Just got Tweetie 2. WTH. I have a Twitter fetish.
So far, I'm leaning towards Simply Tweet. One thing I really enjoy about Simply Tweet is the running total number of tweets I haven't seen yet. The little white dot in Tweetie 2 is helpful for telling me I have a new tweet, but not how many I haven't seen since the last time I logged on.

Plus it doesn't have push does it? I guess it isn't a must, but I really like having that option.
BTW: Am I following you? Not sure.

I think I'm just surprised that Tweetie doesn't have push notifications yet, despite the fact that this is a re-write of the app from the ground up. Tweetie 1 was my favorite Twitter app but I recently switched to SimpyTweet because it does have push notifications. I think I'll stick to SimplyTweet for now, but it's good to know there are other options out there. :ok:ok

I just found out that iPhone devs have to have their own servers (http://www.tuaw.com/2009/04/13/iphone-developers-will-need-servers-to-push/) doing the pushing and that costs money. So, Apple has, in essence, created an environment that is NOT conducive for most developers to have push notifications.
Although Echofon and SimplyTweet have push notifications, a lot of other Twitter apps are already supported by Boxcar and obviously the developers feel they don't have to provide a push feature.

I was and still use Echofon (formerly Twitterfon) but decided to buy Tweetie 2 to check out the hype. Very very nice interface, but there are some features I would like to see. Black/grey theme is a must.....I cant stand that white annoying screen. Also...links and searches within the tweet are not highlighted unless you open the tweet. AND all new tweets....when you open the app should be a darker shade in the backround.....so I know where I left off. I know...just scroll up. But I cant tell you how many times I open the app and scroll up....and like 5 tweets up I see something I posted 20 min ago.
the insertion of images/videos/links is great!!!!! Even the ability to shrink urls and links....sweet!!! Overall Im very happy with the app but it could use some work.

It is good to know that it has been released. We people were waiting for it from a long time. Now I hope that people find it more useful and enjoy using it more and more.

Looks like we'll have to wait for Tweetie 3 and at least another $2.99.
I just looked at it in the app store. The very first screen shot is confusing at best for me. I've been using SimplyTweet long enough now that it has raised the bar high enough all around that Tweetie cannot reach it. It might come close, but no cigar.

When I receive my $10 gift card in the mail from Chris, I'm going to purchase SimplyTweet. I've heard great things about it and no other Twitter app comes close with the features it has. Plus PUSH, awesome!

smart move....in my humble opinion.

This.
It wasn't the money thing much, but more of wanting push.
