Here is where you can post any problems you may see regarding the iPhone's latest FW 3.1.2
There are two things i've noticed;
Back Space key on the keyboard. It may just be mine, but I hope not, basically, when I want to delete a letter, or a couple of letters the backspace key is unresponsive. I switch to landscape and it's fine. That makes me think it may just be a hardware issue with my phone i.e that part of the screen being slightly faulty.
Secondly,
Spotlight, it's lagging massively. I'm using a 3GS and it's lagging like mad. I use this all the time so I hope (again) I'm not the only one.
____________
With both the bugs I've found, I can't see this being a FW issue because the 3.1.2 update stated it was for totally different fixes, so I can't see them changing the code/programme for these things.
Please people, post here with anything you find.

Bugs already, crap! Ok, I tested backspace key in notes and in tap forms a stock and a 3rd party app and it is very responsive in portrait and landscape. I noticed no difference. I also did a couple searches in spotlight with no lag at all. Both these features are identical as before the update for me. Have you done the hard reset you told me to do?:ok:ok

John you still have your bugs? I've tried a couple more times and I can't replicate your problems.

I'm still having snags. I've even restored to 3.1.2 and set up as new phone. I might have to take this to the apple store for a nice replacement. My keyboard issues are still the same and my spotlight still lags.

I know, I'm well confused. I don't even know how many hard resets I've done. I've even tried leavin my music off, then leaving my photo's off (whilst syncing). I'm trapped in a glass cage of emotion.

so what's the general consensus on the battery?? that would be my second biggest concern due to the fact that i'm away from AC for the major part of my day.

I've seen no difference in battery usage for me. I consistently get 6-6.5 hours of usage on a charge.

is that the same as with 3.0.1 or 3.1?

Exact same as with 3.01 and 3.1. I get 6 to 6.5 hours of usage and I feel that is great! Probably 3/4 of that is web surfing as I don't make or receive very many calls.

I haven't had one random shutoff since the update. This is great. :)

I was on 3.0 fw, 3gs 32gb, windows, and I've noticed a change after upgrading to 3.1.2 The changes I've noticed are brightness, not as bright, To where I have it set. and my battery seems to drain much faster with this new upgrade. I'd rather be back on 3.0 fw.It's been a day since upgrading then jb with blackra1n. Definitely there are slight changes. No lag of any sort.

Glad to hear you're using this: I plan to keep it much more aggressively up-to-date than has been the case in the past, but don't hesitate to let me know if you find errors or need clarifications.

Ok so this firmware isn't as perfect as I though. Who was I kidding?
The issue I'm dealing with now is that sometimes my phone will just say "No Service" and if I turn airport mode off and on again it won't find service. With a reboot it detects service perfectly again...
Annoying bug.

The only bug I've noticed, so far, has been that when I launch a quicktime video from a website, I now get a bunch of jarbled language on a webpage, as opposed to the QT video.
One of the sites that this now happens to me on is when I launch ESPN's Colin Cowherd podcast. It also happens now to me on Dan Patrick's podcast so now I can't listen to either from my igoogle homepage.

My ipod started up randomly today. First time this has happened. I noticed an email had arrived. Not sure if it happened exactly as email came in.
A few days ago I was listening to music with speakers plugged into headphone jack and voice dial came up and started to dial one of my contacts. Good thing I noticed and turned if off as it was 3am lol.

so far I haven't had any issues with the 3.1.2. I never really noticed any issues with the previous version, but I am also new to the iphone, so I may not do as many different things yet like some of you. I did let the battery totally drain and charged it up fully. to me, battery life stayed about the same. it may have increased a little, but nothing crazy. the amount of time I am on the phone changes every day, so I can't really judge on the battery life.
I also have never and right now not planning on jailbreaking my phone. I don't know if that may or may not cause some issues people are experiencing. I doubt it since so many of you do it.
