:dft006:unhappyi`m a newby, i`ve got an iphone and am using a 3 network sim. is it ok for me to get apple updates. I TRIED TO DOWNLOAD STUFFF BEFORE AND THE PHONE WENT DEAD. iDON`T WANT A REPEAT. ANY BODY HELP ME.?

No, if you update the firmware on your iPhone, you will lose the unlock and it may or may not be unlockable again afterward. It would help if you would tell us what iPhone model you have, the firmware you currently have, and whether you're on a Mac or PC.

What firmware do you currently have?

To find your firmware version tap on -settings-general-about- and read off the version numbers to the right of the word version.
