Well, not really OTA but I saw a commercial for the Wildcharge Pad yesterday. It works for multiple devices including the iPhone. Has anybody tried it yet?

The only way it works is if you use their proprietary case, which plugs into the bottom of the phone and connects to the plate that allows wireless charging. Personally, that take away from how I use the phone.

The only time I use the bottom connection is when I'm syncing or charging the phone. I guess it could be a be a bit of a pain if the user connects their phone to other devices frequently. They should include an extra port on the case for USB connection then it would be more convenient.

Thats definitely not OTA (over the air) charging. The phone is touching the charger if I read that correctly.

No, it's wireless charging, meaning you simply have to lay it down on the pad to charge. I've never heard of OTA charging for any device beyond what the "pad" does.

It's not wide spread yet, but wireless power transmission does exist. Though it is currently in it's earliest stages of development.
I saw the commercial as well, and I'm still trying to figure out how someone let that air. I know everything is bleeped out, but they probably dropped the F bomb like 15 times.
I agree that the commercial is out of control. Plus, take a look at the phone when they lay it down. Is it me, or does that case not have the huge "butt" sticking out like the case on their website? Hell, the pad doesn't even look the same as the website.

The case that you have to put on the phone also adds bulk to it which is y its keeping me from getting it.

Tesla's intelligence was way ahead of his time. Imagine the things he could of accomplished if he had access to today's technology.

I saw a programme on gadgets a while back and it sat a light bulb in the middle of 3 cell phones laid out in a triangle.
When the 3 cell phone were called, they emitted enough power to light the bulb / LED. Ill try and find the clip. Anyway, if thats the case, in the same way there are WIFI hotspots, there could potentially be charging hotspots. That technology is a few years off being ready though
