Hey,

I am a one week lurker, I finally decided to join EIC for more features, such as subcribing to a thread, my favorite.
I will be picking up an Iphone 3GS (16 or 32GB, not sure yet) tomorrow.

I am looking to forward to jailbreaking my new toy/working tool. I didnt even know what that was 1 week ago. I love this site, all the info. I need is in one place.

Also, if I ever ask any stupid questions, bare with me, because I am no Iphone guru.

Do you have any suggestions as to where I should start? For example: little modifications, adjust settings, etc...
Are there any little mods you did that you wished you knew all along?

right now my phone is stock with no modifications. if thats the way you want to go start in the mods area. maybe check out the screenshot thread it gives you many examples of what everyone has done with their phones on jailbrake themes. as for the apps that are available in jailbreak its really endless. i was only jailbroken for a short time so i didnt get to play with it too much.

also just check out the little tips posted everywhere. watch the app announcements because they are always letting us know whats new and if its worth that .99 purchase or not.

Hello and welcome!

Just be warned that in order to do any REAL customization you need to jailbreak your iPhone. Currently, you won't be able to jailbreak a brand new iPhone you buy from the store with the 3.1 software on it. Hopefully within the next few days, we will have an out-of-box jailbreak for 3.1 though...

Welcome! I used to jailbreak, but the 3GS has it all (almost). Just no theming or real customization.

I pulled the trigger this morning. I bought a 3GS 32GB in white. So far, so good. I really like it. I already got 2 apps and 1 ringtone(crank)...

Welcome to the forum. I'm a newbie too I had no idea I would enjoy my phone this much. I have the 3g 8gb and love it. I have the 3.1 so no jailbreak. To be honest. I wasn't looking to jailbreak it. I love mine the way it is now e en though I'm sure I'm missing out on alot.
