I'm sure all jailbreakers have heard of and seen that new, much touted, Appiconreorder that you have to connect an iPhone running 3.1 to iTunes 9 to use. There's a new free app in Cydia that betters that. It's called MultiIconmover and it's from the same guy who freely gave us Backgrounder and Kirikae - two of the best apps ever, IMHO.

MultiIconmover, as the name suggests, allows you to move and reorder multiple springboard icons (not just app icons but webclips too!) right on your iPhone without needing to connect to iTunes. Check it out. It's another "must have" especially if you find Categories too risky to manage your icons.

I downloaded AppIconReorder 2 days ago. It's very good. There have been two updates in the last two days to support 6 rows and docks and columns, you get the picture. The latest was a name change to 'SBOrganizer'

I had to pay for it, but the simplicity of using it pays for itself.

My understanding is that you don't need the phone to be running 3.1 I'm on 3.0.1 and it works absolutely fine...
or.. you referring to backing up your SB layout, if so, I believe it still doesn't need to be 3.1

Sorry, I was referring to Apple's vitual apps organizer on 3.1 and iTunes 9, not the Cydia app. I have not used Appiconreorder because I was put off by the initial comments made by users. Maybe I'll try it now upon your review.

There is also another app called "MultiIconMover" (MIM) that is free on Cydia.

While many appear to have it working, I have not been successful. But I have 5dock, 5 rows and 5 colSB.

"MIM" appears to be a big rival of SBOrganizer.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it appears SBOrganizer moves only app icons. MultiIconMover moves everything you can put on the Springboard.

Thanks. The dev's description gives one the impression that only application icons are movable...
