Hey I'm really new to Macs so I know in the PC world that a tune up program is a must to get rid of clutter and fix registry errors and other issues. I also know that Macs don't have registries but anyway my question is: Is a program like what I listed in the title helpful? If so then what are some good ones? Thanks.:dft003:coolkid

You really don't need to do any maintenance on Macs. If you start having any problems, install Applejack and boot in single user mode and type Applejack to run it and repairs errors, permissions, etc. The only problem that I ever had was a printer install error that it fixed.

There isn't a Snow Leopard compatible version available yet, so I had to uninstall it after installing SL.

I use Onyx (http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/system_disk_utilities/onyx.html). It does any maintenance that you might need to do, and allows you to enable a few fun tweaks throughout the system.

Thanks you two. I guess I gotta get used to not using windows and not needing to tweak and clean stuff on a weekly basis. What about disk defragmentation, should that be done? Is there any type of under the hood stuff that I need to do?
Thanks again
