After updating to the 5.5 carrier file while on 3.0.1 my Griffin Tuneflex Smartclick remote stopped working. I thought it was a problem with my remote, so I replace the battery. Didn't fix anything. Tried it in a different Tuneflex Smartclick, still didn't work. Downgraded my carrier file back to 4.0 and it started working. I thought maybe it was because 5.5 wasn't allowed on 3.0.1 or something.
So I installed the jb 3.1 last night, and allowed the carrier file to update as well. Sure enough when I went to my car today the remote isn't working anymore. When I downgrade the carrier file to 4.0 it works again, although a little sporadically, but then MMS is missing. Also after downgrading to the 4.0 ATT_US.ipcc the Carrier in About says AT&T 5.0, not 4.0. I'm positive this is the 4.0 file though. Any thoughts on why the carrier file would break the remote communication of the Smartclick?

A little update: I installed the 6.0 carrier file, and it works perfectly for everything; MMS, Visual Voicemail, and remote. Really odd that the official 5.5 carrier file would cause the remote to stop working with the iPhone. No idea why it would do that.

This is very interesting. I have the Griffin iTrip Autopilot that works great wherever I travel. A few days ago I went to play Pandora and the first thing I noticed was a message at the bottom that said "No Speaker Available". A song played for about 45 sec. and went to static. So I am thinking WTH? I messed with it for a long time and finally decided that maybe 3.1 had something to do with it. But since you are not on 3.1, you must be right about the carrier file. So being on 3.1, I guess I am without Pandora until hopefully an update of something will fix the problem.
The only odd thing that baffles me is that Pandora will play fine in my iHome unit.

I am on 3.1 now. I had the problem with 3.0.1 and the 5.5 carrier file, as well as 3.1 with the 5.5 carrier file. If your Griffin product is also having issues it must be something with the Griffin method of communication and the official 5.5 carrier file.

I have the same idea with you. Great! Thanks for sharing.
Glad to hear you're using this: I plan to keep it much more aggressively up-to-date than has been the case in the past, but don't hesitate to let me know if you find errors or need clarifications.

I just updated to the 5.6 carrier file, and the remote is working perfectly with it.
