3G owner with 3.01 Should I jailbrake now or wait?

So I have the 3g with 3.01 should I just jailbreak now or should I update to 3.1 and hopefully wait till they come out with a 3.1 jailbreak?

its completely up to you. i was stock for a long time and i jailbroke probably a month before 3.1 was released and i ended up updating. i could jailbreak now if i wanted to, but i havent yet. i guess it just depends on what youre looking for.

Just went back to 3.01 cause I had issues with the jailbreak. Error 1015 qiuckpwn and no dice. Must have done something wrong. Ill try again later.:dft010:smiling

I have the 3G also. I upgraded to 3.1 and used the new quickpawn to jail brake. After jail braking I set it up as a new phone. so far no problems. I even applied the MMS carrier settings on Friday with no adverse issues....

Life is good. I recommend going to 3.1...

If you want to unlock in the future, I would wait for the official 3.1 jailbreak before you update. The dev team jailbreak will preseve the present baseband so you can unlock fir futue selling, etc.

Don't really care about unlocking or selling the phone anytime in the near future. Should I just update to 3.1 now and then jailbreak?

If you ever want to sell the phone, you may want to wait. Not that you won't make a sale without the phone being unlocked; however, you'll definitely be able to ask quite a bit more for the phone if it is unlocked. I'd personally just wait it out...

A lot of us were thinking it would be Friday; however, that obviously was not the case. I'm hoping relatively soon, unfortunately no one and I mean no one can give you a definitive answer....unless you're on the Dev Team and even then you may not even know!

Diesel has a 3G, not a 3GS, so he shouldn't need to wait. As long as he has a Mac, he can jailbreak and unlock 3.1 right now.
