Stupid Question?

This maybe a stupid question but I have to ask anyway. I have both a pc and a mac. As far as I can tell, from reading the dev blog and this forum you can jailbreak an iphone 3g on the mac only? I primarily use the pc as the computer for the iphone, so if I jailbreak on the mac then plug the phone into the pc everything will be ok?

ok, so do I follow the instructions on the pwnage tool application? Should I choose iphone or iphone 3g (S)? I do not see a picture of an iphone 3g.
