View Full Version : SSH with Cyberduck

I just started using SSH with Cyberduck recently. I was using iPhoneBrowser, but it stopped working, so I switched over to SSH.

With iPhoneBrowser, you can click on a file and see the image. I haven't figured out a way to do that with Cyberduck. Instead I have to copy the file to the desktop and open it. Is there a way to see the images from within Cyberduck?

Also is there a way to get it to require the alpine (I did change it) password every time you open Cyberduck without deleting it from the history/bookmark? If I delete it from the history, I have to reenter the protocol, server, user name, and password when I want to reconnect. But if I keep it in the history, I don't have to put in anything, including the password, even if I hit disconnect prior to closing Cyberduck. I just want it to save everything except the password, is that possible?

Thanks guys :)

I've noticed that when I use WinSCP in Windows, I often can't view png files, even when I copy them to the desktop.

I can view the .png files when I copy them to the desktop, but it was nice to be able to just see them in iPhoneBrowser without having to copy and then delete. I just always thought there were more features with SSH (compared to diskaid/iphonebrowser), not less? Maybe Cyberduck isn't the best client?

In short, the answers to both your questions are no.

In Cyberduck, you cant view files until you have copied them onto your pc/mac.

You also cant have everything saved but the password. Id look for another client...

Europa - have you looked at DropCopy or CopyShare apps?

If you use a Mac and are primarily worried about sharing image files back and forth between iPhones and Macs, then both are superb for that. DropCopy doesn't preview the image for you, but CopyShare does.

Neither app is free (but both have desktop companion apps that are) - but both are very worthwhile IMO ...

I thought you could use Quick Look (space bar) within Cyberduck to view files, no? Maybe I'm just thinking of another client.

I haven't used Cyberduck in a while due to laziness but I'm so excited for the Quick Look. Yay.
