Itunes App TAb; greyed out

I have installed Itunes 9 but can not use the app organizaiton feature, the screens are grayed out and do not respond. I do not have restrictions on, and sync is set to manual

Are you on windows? If so, I think you may need to install the iPhone configuration utility through apple software update.
