I've noticed that 3G service craps out a lot. I'm listening to
a radio stream and then it stops. I do a speed test and it
can't even find the a server. It is happening all the time
and if its part of the upgrade to MMS, then I can be somewhat
understanding, but who do I complain to that I get less
bandwidth, and frequently NO BANDWIDTH on 3G then on Edge?

Anyone else notice this?

Ummm. I think you should reeeally be talking to AT&T. :dft002:amazed No one here can help you if you're getting crappy 3G service. The 3G signal all depends on where you reside. Heck, I still have blindspots in my kitchen but since I know this, I don't go there, but if it's irritating you that much, just walk into an AT&T store and complain. Never underestimate the power of complaint... to the right people, that is! :ok:ok

At&t seems to be tinkering away at its network constantly...their family map location service was down for the first time an entire day last week for restructuring reasons.

One of the towers in my area was down for two days last week wreaking havoc. I couldn't make calls or receive them. They didn't go to voice mail. Rather callers got a message that "this user is not accepting calls at this time." Not only that, but I had no data whatsoever. No edge, No 3g...nothing.

I called and complained. They gave me a $46 credit....that's a month of phone service. Not data.

When I called the second day, I complained that I was using minutes to make calls that weren't going through. I would get charged one free minute for all these calls. They gave me 200 extra minutes in my bank of rollover minutes.

I have to admit, I hate AT&T service, but I can't complain about that customer service. For two days of bad service I got a free month of phone service and 200 extra minutes.

You're good! Something about your voice? :dft012:wink

Found this, its a pretty comprehensive explanation of the ATT/iPhone
data drop problem. Sort of a ... "we never expected this to be so popular, after all were ATT".

Apparently CNET is tracking the issue. The system dumps data users
first.

hehehehe. I have no idea! And it was two women that helped me, not even men! I guess maybe my voice dazzles both sexes. :dft012:wink

I heard from a genius at the Apple store in Tulsa that AT&T experienced a cut cable about 1 month ago affecting 3G voice service for three states, OK, AR, and MO. I confirmed that with AT&T and was given a $50 credit towards my normally $200 bill. The AT&T rep read the outage bulletin verbatim and said that they do not know when this will be corrected. Nice huh?
