View Full Version : iTunes wont connect to the store

everytime i run iTunes and try to go to the itunes store, it wont connect and i get this message "could not connect to the itunes store.make sure network connection is active and try again." i tried getting help by going under Help>Run diagnostics>network connection,but that didnt do anything. please help!

Firstly, are you connected to the Internet?

Has iTunes ever connected to the store, or did it recently stop? Do you have security software with a firewall that could be preventing it access to the Internet?

Yea I am connected to the Internet. Yes itunes 9 has connected to the Internet but has recently stopped. I have norton. All I need to know is how to allow it to use the store again because I know norton is doing this after I upgraded to iTunes 9, but don't know how to allow it.

You should be able to add an exception for iTunes in the Norton firewall settings.

alright... i just went to the firewall settings>progam control>itunes and changed custom to allow and i still cant get it to work
