Not sure if anyone else has noticed this or not but I use the AT&T MyWireless application a couple weeks ago and noticed the following:
Internet/MEdia Net:
Used ###.## MB of Unlimited
Internet/MEdia Net Pay Per Use:
Used ######
etc.
The "Pay Per Use" caught my attention and I immediately called AT&T to discuss the matter. Apparently, in their system, they showed that I was using data while living it up in Turks Caicos! LOL While I would definitely not mind being there and having what could be the best time of my life... I've never once been to Turks Caicos. In fact, I have not set foot outside of the US in over 15 years nor have I even been close to a border!!!
After waiting for a return phone call I proceeded to be ever diligent and called them again to push the matter further. The application showed my usage of 7.3 MB of data and the pending charge was to be over $143 US dollars!!! I offered to provide travel information, passport tracking, etc to prove to them I was no where near this little island east of the Bahamas.
I was then informed that this was a mistake in their system and has been recorded a few other times. They claimed that there really wasn't anything they could do until the bill went through and I was actually charged for this data usage. The bill went through and there was no charge... instead the data rolled over into next months cycle. :dft008:suprised So I called a third time (not to complain but to figure out what was going on). This time the data usage dropped to around 1.2 MB (it all seemed a bit random).
To make a long story short... they said they are currently working on the issue and that I had nothing to fear in regards to an extremely high phone bill. Should such charges go through and I receive this infamous bill, I was to call in and they would take care it at that point by removing the data charge thus leaving me with my normal monthly bill. :dft012:wink
I guess I should now hurry up and plan a trip to the Atlantic and claim that I did not go!!! LOL
Anyway... I hope this is useful information for anyone else out there who finds themselves in the same situation. Don't worry... AT&T is aware and working and will be more than happy to get this resolved!
That is all. :ok:ok
