I often become inpatient when waiting for my device to do a backup or complete a sync, because it often takes such a LONG TIME. Sometimes I wait longer than 5 minutes for a simple sync to finish, up to 20 minutes or more, even though things remain unchanged and no new apps have been installed since the previous sync.
I really couldn't find any solution here that would work, so I decided to do a search on Google and found the solution with the very first web page I came across. Total credit goes to the author who posted this on an external website. I realize this may or may not work for all of you, but definitely give it a try and see what your results are.
