View Full Version : Genius mixes, Cant get them.

Hello.
I Installed iTunes 9 and 3.1 firmware in my iphone.
I cant get genius mixes.
I activate genius and update it, but genius mixes doesnt appear in the left toolbar...
any idea?

Well, I guess you dont enough songs in your library. It only made 2 mixes for me (a max of 12 are possible). To create mixes, it will need a lot of similar songs.

In iTunes go to Store>Turn Off Genius

Then turn Genius back on and mixes should be activated; I had the same problem as you and those steps fixed it for me. :)

Nope, That didn't work for me. I still have just the 2 mixes :(

Hello, I have 512 songs, and many albums from the same artists, a lot of music clasified as "rock" so it shouldn't have that problem...
I tryed that of turning genius off and then on and didn't work.
Will try again and tell you.
I wrote an e-mail to apple and they told me that they don't know the cause of that issue but they alredy know about it, they will tell me the solution when they have it.
I will tell you if no one finds it before.

I have 700+songs , 80 + albums ... half of them in rock. But still i have 2 mixed - dance and soundtrack...not a rock mix!

I dont know how apple does it...

That sucks.... Do all your songs hve the right album and artist name etc. on them? Maybe that's a factor of this.

Oh no... my regular genius works great. i make sure that my metadata is right.

That's really weird :s And you've tried 'resetting Genius' and turning genius off and back on? :s

Okay, all I can think of now is maybe re-installing iTunes?
