Hi,
One of my friends had an AT and T Cingular iPhone mobile when he was in US. He came overseas and unlocked the iPhone using iClarified. Now, he needs to go back to US and would like to have the same AT and T Cingular connection with same Cingular phone number. Please let me know if there is any way we can lock the unlocked iPhone which functions the same way as before with AT and T.

Just restore the firmware or update to 3.1 if he hasent already this will remove any jailbreak and unlock.

Hi..Thanks for the reply...Is there anyway that it can be tracked by Apple or AT & T which might create problems? Please let me know.

nope.. once you restore as a new phone, there is no way to make out if you were JB

Yeah, once restored then that's just it.

I'm pretty sure apple would be able to tell you've jailbroken the device, even though the 'Restore' installs a fresh firmware again.
Apple have diagnostic tools that are used behind the counter... but who know's what they actually do.
In basic, to remove the 'unlock' simply hit the restore button and download the latest FW and your totally back to stock (straight from the factory).

Regardless if they can tell or not, it's safe to say that as long as you restore it to factory settings before taking it in for repair/replacement, you'll be fine.
