Just wondering! Doubt the bill would show anything other than data usage

The standard bill doesn't include that, although you might be able to request a copy of it.

URL or search history? Your phone service provider does not keep those kind of records. However, Almighty Google does. Be afraid, be very afraid...:laugh2::laugh2::laugh2:

I'm suspecting the poor guy might be rather young to have asked that question in the first place.

Well, he should at least know in advance so he can plan to get to the bill before his parents and hide it. ;)

Hahaha, this is the same as that old 'Will Playboy TV show up on the Sky-Bill?' question ;)

I thought that under recent Home Land Security and Telecommunications acts, all network traffic must be recorded (obviously in the US only). With cell phones it started with just calls and text messages but has now extended into the smartphone realm by recording URL history.

I could be wrong about the telecommunications part but I know for a fact in an educational environment, we are required by law to record email, instant messaging, and URL history for every single machine on campus. We even had HLS advisors and Network Security Consultants on campus for a 3 weeks making sure we had everything in order! Is this because we're state funded? Quite possibly and I would assume a private institution does not fall under these regulations. Huge uproar on campus over this too! LOL Personally I could care less... seems like all the people who threw a fit were the ones who play games all day while they should be working. I'm not doing anything illegal so I don't care. And the information recorded is only to be used in the event an action from the courts mandates/sequesters the information so even the game playing employees are safe. :P

So... that said, if I were you and really (and I mean REALLY) wanted to find out... request a free consultation from a lawyer to figure out if cellular companies are required by law to record URL traffic. If that's the case, then you should be able to request your own traffic information (might have to twist a few arms to get it though). ;)
