No Disk Burner or Sftware Detetced Error!!

I was able to burn a couple CDs in iTunes 8.2 on my PC - Now, with a disc in the drive, I keep getting this error - how can I fix this?

i get the same thing, i saw the directions from apple on how to try and fix it but it did not work because i do not have a registry file

You both aren't by any chance getting this error on a Dell laptop are you?
I had this problem and was not able to burn any CDs at all. Turns out I had to update my burner firmware which fixed the problem.
