Iphone help pleasssse

Ok so i put a code on my iphone 3g to keep people out. my friends tried getting in and it eventually locked to 60 mintues they then turned it off and then when turned back on it said plug into itunes it needed to be restored. when i plugged it into itunes it said i need to insert my code into the phone but the only thing the phone is letting me do is emergecy calls! what do i do help!!

Far from an expert but I think you need to restore as new; back to factory settings and then restore from backup.
