My broadband connection stopped working today for some reason. So I connected internet through the cell network using my iPhone. In one hour, my iPhone crashed 3 times and restarted. This has never happened before. I rarely use tethering, in cases of emergencies like this one.
can anyone tell me what could the problem be?
PS: I am jailbroken.

I have noticed that after a few mins of tethering, iPhone becomes painfully slow. I didnt even open the settings tab to let me turn off the tethering. I had to pull the USB cable off... in no time, the phone is back to normal!!

Crashing because your using your your internet sounds a little strange. Have you got things running in the background (backgrounder), which could cause the phone to crash.

no... nothing running in the background. Same problem even after restarts!

Why did you start two threads on the same topic?
Anyway, have you recently added any new themes or apps? If so, try removing them one at a time and also removing Winterboard. Otherwise, you might want to consider restoring the phone.

Have you got some large themes running through Winterboard, as this is usually your main problem.

Not the same topic, they are two different issues... as far as I can tell!
I do have winterboard installed but currently I use the default iPhone theme. I have no problem with other apps(doom, BIA...) just Sims 3 and the tethering!

You may have a problem with memory. If it's causing your phone to slow right down then that might be the case.
Do you have a Memory free-er. You can get them from either the appstore or you can use the one built into SBSettings.

if your memory is full that may cause this problem. try to free some memory and that will make your phone faster. Make sure it is not causing problem for theme issue.
