Can't make or receive calls with 3g on.

I did a search but only yielded one thread with a similar issue but it went unsolved. And I have new information.

All of a sudden this morning I cannot make or receive calls. I can get and send text, and get online. If I switch off 3g and use edge, the phone works normally. I tried reboots, resprings, and resetting network settings. Nothing. iPhone 3g fw3.0.0 jailbroken. I know I can try a restore or update the firmware, but I'm looking for some ideas before doing that. As I said, everything worked fine yesterday.

Nevermind. It all of a sudden starting working again. So it must have been a network issue in the area. Strange that it worked with 3g turned off though.
