Currently I have the smartphone data plan (same as iPhone), unlimited messaging and unlimited minutes on my current line. If I return the phone on my line (still under 30 days) and not get a new phone at that time, could I remove the data plan, messaging, and switch to a PAYG plan or something? Basically, I want to keep this line (but not use it), and pay as least as possible. Then I'll add another line and get the 3GS for the discounted price. If I do this, would I be able to transfer my old number to the new line?
What would be recommended to do so I can pay as least as possible on my current line and leave it active, but not have it used?
