billing question...

Since I got screwed over years ago by T-Mobile, my best friend of 10 years decided to help me out by adding me onto his family plan. He's got the 550 min family plan that's $59.99. We both barely talk on the phone but if we do it's mainly to each other or other AT&T customers. I added the iPhone to his plan, which I'm the third line which I know is an additional $9.99. He doesn't use his second line since he just added it to get his gf a handset upgrade. Anyways, I thought the only thing that would change is the $30 data package. Oh and we have unlimited family text messaging. What I find interesting is that after looking at the bill, here's how it was charged... please feel free to ask if I left anything out.

LINE 1 (my friend) :

LINE 2 (friend not in use)

What is Credit? wouldn't that be deducted from your bill, not added to?

My breakdown is as follows:
39.99 for basic 450 minute plan
30.00 for unlimited data
15.00 for 1500 text (rip-off, but I need them)
5.57 for Taxes and government fees.
I also have a corporate discount through my business. -$12.75

Total: 77.81 with discount. $90.56 without the discount.
I also (with the exception of text) have the cheapest plan available. You need to sit down with your friend and find out why a 9.99 add-on account is so much.

I just noticed that you said that you were supposed to be a second line, but with 59.99, that is NOT a second line. That is the highest minute plan for the iphone -unless you added the 30.00 data package in there. You need to re-evaluate what the setup for your iPhone is.
