View Full Version : bluetooth pairing with iphone and PC problem

How do I set up pairing with my Vista PC and iphone 3G?
The PC finds the iphone but calls for "drivers from the CD which came with the hardware" of which there were none.
I am seeking to use my iphone as a route to the Internet for my PC .
I did this fine with my HTC phone but this iphone is proving to be difficult.

The iphone 3G is unlocked and jailbroken.

You will need to turn on Tethering on your iphone.

Settings-General-Network-Set up Internet Tethering- Go through prompts and choose bluetooth and pair it up to your Pc and your on the web.

Actually I don't have any option for tethering . The problem is that the iphone is not able to connect to the vista pc as the drivers are not installed.
What I have just done is to 'forget device' on the iphone and delete device in the bluetooth settings on the pc and attempt to set it up again.
The pc finds the iphone and fails to find the drivers.
However, now the iphone cannot find the pc.

Well thx for the suggestion but it's all in German with no apparent link to an Eng ver.
My German is non-existent.

Take everything off after the .at and try it. there is english in there, I swear.


BTW, just pairing the phone to a PC in general is a friggin pain.

Actually, for Eng speakers, this link is rather easier to follow but it leads to the same stuff .

This software to enable tethering is working for me thru USB but not thru BT since I cannot seem to pair with the iphone but that's a different problem. I will make separate posting for that if I cannot resolve.

That's odd... I visited that site on my iPhone and it has directions (in english) and a link to download settings directly on to the device. It enabled tethering for usb and bluetooth. I've tested both on my PC and they work great... did you try going to the site on your iPhone?
