lost names in sms and phone wont recognize incoming numbers

I recently bought a new Macbook Pro.

I have a Iphone 3GS 32gb jailbroken i am rockin 3.0 witout the newest update with att.

I re wrote the id code in itunes so that i could sync my phone with the new computer without wiping everything on my phone.

When i synced with the new computer i no longer have names pop up when i get a text or call.

all my conversations are still there but its shows the phone number not the name from my phonebook.

also it removed the picture next to my contacts from my speed dial list.

when i get an incoming call it doesnt recognize the incoming number.

this is seriously driving me nuts.

i tried changing the format for the numbers in my address book on the new mac and re synced but nothing changed on the phone.

anyone else heard of this? could this have to do with the text message update?

Did you have your contacts backed up with Google, Yahoo, or Moblile Me?

If you back them up with Google/Yahoo, you can sync them back on through iTunes. Mobile Me syncs them automatically when you set the email up on the phone.

If you didn't use one of those methods, be sure to set one of them up after you put the contacts back in manually, so you never have to worry about it again.

One thing you could try, although I don't think it's going to work, is going to Settings > Mail, Contacts, and Calendars > Import SIM contacts.
