I just recently upgraded to a 16gb iPhone 3G S from a Palm Centro. I love it for the most part but have one gripe. I hate the 10mb limit on the App Store. I understand that it is most likely there to help control network congestion but it is rather annoying. The ideal solution would be to have the limit removed or at least raised (to, say, 20mb). If they will not do this I would at least like to see a download queue added that allows you to download the app later from a Wi-Fi connection rather than just being warned that it's over 10mb. I often forget to download the app later unless I make a note for myself. I guess it's not that big of a deal but I just find it annoying.

If you jailbreak your iPhone, 3Gunrestrictor ($2.00 from Cydia) will get around that limit for you.

If you were a first gen iPhone user, like many of us, you'd be grateful that you can even use the App Store on your phone to get apps. When the App Store was first introduced we were advised to only get appps on our computers and sync them to our phones. Now, the file size limit doesn't seem to bother me at all. Anyway, I guess always having an available wi-fi connection near by basically eliminates the problem all together.

I think this is more a requirement of AT&T (and other carriers) than of Apple. I don't think they'll ease up on this until their networks can handle this, or if they can find a way to charge people for this capability.

Yeah, I too think it is an ATT issue.
Macgirl: Please refrain from giving ATT anymore ideas on how to steal more of our hard earned dollars. :dft011:wicked_smile

My bad. :p However, something tells me that AT&T has an entire department devoted to thinking up ways to get more money from customers. The hiring profile for that department most assuredly requires traits from a cross between The Joker and Lee Iacocca.

Just jailbreak, free your iPhone, and be done with it. :ok:ok

AT&T only thinks how they can hijack more and more money from their customers. I jailbroke my phone and now using my iphone as I wish. I am not bother of limit now.
