Hi All,

I have an Iphone 3g, live in Los Angeles, and talk to my girlfriend in Colombia daily. I currently have ATT's intl plan, but still the cost is killing me.

She doesn't have a computer so we can't go with voip.

I know there are calling card plans, there's an app called Trufone, skype, and many others. Does anyone know what the best solution is for keeping my costs down and still have a good phone connection?

Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

Randy

I'd throw skype on your phone. You can make skype calls to any type of phone as long as you are on wifi. The costs are minimal to land lines and a little more pricey to cell phones but I am sure it is significantly cheaper than what AT&T extorts from you.
Check out the rates here (http://www.skype.com/prices/callrates/#allRatesTab). I just looked at Colombia and you're looking at around 10 cents per minute. I call Poland rather frequently and I have never had call clarity or connection problems.

Thank you Danipoak,

I'll give that a try. I had downloaded the Iphone ap for Skype and Trufone, but was unsure exactly how all of this works. So I have to be on WiFi in order to use the Skype?

Thanks again,
Randy
