I just jailbroke my iphone, and I currently have cydia. Is it possible to download installer also? If so could you explain how to do it or link me to the right place?

Let Installer RIP. It's not what is was back in the V1 days. It's buggy and not recommended any more. Instead use Cydia and Icy.

Okay so I want to install Icy, but if I use redsnow again to install icy would that remove all the changes that I have done to my phone since jailbreaking? All I want to do is add Icy to my jailbroken phone and I am confused about how to do it...

Icy is available on Cydia from the ripdev source.

I am new to this but I just assumed having both major sources for mods would be a good idea...

I pretty much assumed that Cydia and Icy shared the same sources for the most part.

I think it does. Isn't Icy just more lightweight or something?

If Cydia stops responding, you could use Icy as a backup.

Personally, I'd just restore if that happened, but I'm sure a lot of people would just prefer to use the back up.
