Has anyone found a weather application with push notification? It would be really cool to have location (GPS) based push notification for severe weather alerts. If anyone has found one, please let me know... Thanks

From reading the description and some of the reviews this seems to be an issue for some but not for others. I don't know if it's user error or not, I bought it last night (after posting the link here), for .99....I'm willing to give it a shot. Haven't had any severe weather yet to say whether it's working or not. I know I've wasted more money on things with less promise.

Just sign up on Weather.com for free to get instant text messages on severe alerts.
I've been using it for years, pre-iPhone, and never needed an app or even access to the internet to get updates.

I did this for a period of time, but they keep sending the same alert over and over again. Eats thru your text messages quick.

I don't know if the weather channel has a paid app, but the weatherbug does, I am assuming if they come out with push for severe weather, it will be a part of their paid app. I already own it, so here is hoping.

I have emailed weather bug at least a dozen times asking for even a response to my emails about push notifications in their app and have not received one email back.... I'm not holding my breath anymore.

Weather.com is cool. It is good for for severe weather alerts. Me also used weatheralert. After a few days of purchasing I realised that it is totally hopeless.

Been wanting something like this. I keep the phone next to the bed at night while it's charging and we don't have a weather radio. I just signed up to weather.com's severe alerts. Great info, thanks.

What has worked for me is signing up for text weather alerts from my local news station.

I am signed up with weather channel to receive text messages. I chose to get warnings only. You will receive a text each time the NWS issues a message or updates a current warning. Have gotten eight flash flood warning messages in one night. Better safe and broke than dead though!
