I just signed up for a free trial and have questions.
1) Over the air and no docking require for syncing. Is this means I don't need to go to my itunes to sync unless I just need to transfer something from my library?
2) I have internet explorer. Mobile me is suggesting I should use either Firefox or Safari, although it works with explorer but not ideal? In my itunes my web browser used to be internet explorer is now gone and replaced by Mobile me. Should I choose one( which one) or just stay with internet explorer?
3) And the last one for now. I would like to change my mobile me address in itunes account. I tried to edit but it's telling me that I cannot use existing mobile me address. I should cancel and sign in again with my mobile me account. Is this means canceling the whole account and create a new one? thanks a bunch.

1.) It only syncs your calendar, contacts, and internet bookmarks.

2.) You can stay with IE. MobileME kinda sucks no matter which browser you use.

3.) Are you simply wanting to change your iTunes Apple ID to use a new email address?

Ok, I'm good with 1 and 2. Yes I would like to change my email address as my new ID so it will change the one in my phone when I log into itunes.

just because you can stick with IE doesn't mean you should.

So which one do you recommend?

pretty much anything is a step up. Firefox, Opera, and Safari are all awesome.

Sounds good. One more thing. My wife is worry that it will interfere with internet explorer If I use either safari or firefox. I told her that mobile me and internet explorer are seperate, am I right?

I don't believe it's possible to change the email address associated with your iTunes account. I started my iTunes account years ago with an old Hotmail address and wanted to switch it to my .Mac/MobileMe address when I signed up. I had to create an entirely new account to do this. And the music I purchased under the Hotmail account could not be transferred to my new account, according to customer service. The removal of DRM from music files has since made this a non-issue, along with the fact that it's easy to authorize my computer to use both accounts.

Just an FYI for you on this part...

yes. You can use many different browsers without them interfering with each other. MobileMe wouldn't affect it either.

Yeah, I think I'm going to cancel my account then create a new one.
As for the browser, since it's okay to switch, I will choose safari, thanks guys.

Is there some reason why you want to change your iTunes username? Just because you now use MobileMe doesn't mean it really needs to be your iTunes ID. Is it because you won't have the old email address for much longer or something?

I just want my new address on there, but it's so complicated that I just not going to try to change it. Instead, I added my Mobile me address as my primary email address. I still have yahoo.

Well through much trial and tribulation I figured out how to do it. Actually, I had to figure it out, as I "tested" changing my iTunes ID and it worked. But it wouldn't let me change it back to what it was. I kept getting the error "The email address you entered is already being used for an Apple account..."

So I check the Apple store... and it had automatically changed to the same email address I had changed my iTunes ID to. Same thing on the iPhone itself, though that pesky little thing kept wanting to reconnect to iTunes store even though I had logged out (finally turned the iPhone off).

No amount of changing my email back to what it was originally worked...

The breakthrough was finding out that if I changed my email ID here (http://myinfo.apple.com/), it would work and then propagate back to iTunes, Apple Store, and my iPhone. While this "seemed" like it was worked just like changing it via iTunes (same info) it actually worked. So I think the ticket is to make sure the ID is changed here:
http://myinfo.apple.com/

And for the record, none of the changes I did created a new account. All my stuff, and my info, is exactly as it was before. But boy was it a hassle having to deal with the iPhone, iTunes ID, Apple ID, Apple Store ID.

Thanks for taking the time to figure that one out Mike !
That's very useful information that I'll keep for future reference.
