Jailbroke and installed several apps. No matter what I add/remove, when I check settings>general>about, the info never changes, it reads 24 apps, and 13.9G free. Where can I get more correct info from my springboard?

Try rebooting it, if that doesn't work, syncing it with iTunes and it should update that info.

Also, you could try respringing your screen. If you have SbSettings this is easy to do.

Does the information change on the storage space bar in iTunes?

Not really, no

Apps can be very small files, less than 1 MB. That's a drop in the bucket for a 8-32 GB iPhone. Is it possible that you are just not noticing the difference because it is such a small size? Try syncing a movie to the phone and then check.

I agree. But the count on the phone should change shouldn't it?

Yes, the number of apps should change. I'm not sure why it's not. Another thing you might want to try is letting the battery drain down until it dies. That's recommended once a month anyway to recalibrate the battery, and it might be worth a shot.
