Hey all, new here, so be nice. Anyway, I've been trying to find the best solution for mounting my iPhone in my '01 Nissan Maxima. I've already got the perfect solution for playing it through my stock stereo and charging it and all that, so I don't need anything in the way of fm transmitters or chargers or anything. (Other than the mounting solution has to allow for a docking cable to be plugged into the bottom of the phone)

So what I'd really like is a solution like this one (http://www.amazon.com/Bracketron-UNI-4503IP-Mount-iPhone-Black/dp/B000BYNTVW/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1249777323&sr=1-12). I like it because it mounts to the frame of the console by my stereo, so there's no vent mounts, suction cups, cup holders, or any other inferior mount options. This sucker ain't going anywhere. The only problem with that one in-particular, is that the actuall clips that hold the phone got sucky reviews. It's got great hardware for mounting to the dash, but crappy wings for holding on to the phone.

So what I'd like to do is find a popular mount that everyone likes and mount it onto this bracket. I can purchase the bracket separately for about $8, but finding an iphone mount to fit on it might be a challenge.

Any ideas? Sorry for the long post.

i just got a Proclip mount, and love it. It's more expensive than what you're looking at there (mine was about $100), but they are very high quality. And it was easy to install. No drilling into your dash or anything like that.

Yeah, I've looked at proclip, and I know they have a bracket mount that mounts to the frame of the console like the one I'm looking at, but as you say, it is much more expensive. I may end up going with the bracketron mount, just because it is so cheap, and then get the clip from proclip or something. It all depends on if it will fit to the bracket I get.

I understand about getting what you pay for, but a metal bracket is a metal bracket. If I can get one for $8, I don't want to pay $25 for it. Besides, I just forked out $120 for the perfect solution to play it through my stereo, control it from my stereo, and charge it, all in one nice cable. Not really ready to fork out another $100, when just tossing it on the passenger side works too for free.
