Alright,so I have scanned quite a bit of places (including youtube) On how to videos of jailbreaking, plain in simple its easy. But for some reason it isnt for me,lol.

So I just got a brand new Iphone 3gs today.

Come home, I had purplera1n loaded on my computer, i plugged in my iphone let it install drivers and such, let itunes recognize it, I did not let it update to 3.0.1. Its still on 3.0(7A341).

I closed itunes, booted purplera1n up, plugged in my iphone and hit "make it rain".

Its going well, boots my iphone into recovery hits the black screen with the cable asking to connect to itunes, and then the black screen turns red?

Can't do anything,so i get out of recovery and try redsn0w.

I download the exe and the original ipsw file (3.0).

Do everything as instructed, unchecked installing icy and only cydia.
Plug my iphone into the computer (its completely off) while holding the home button,redsn0w recognizes it and jumps to the next page.

Redsn0w sits at waiting for phone to reboot.
And the iphone screen is sitting at the itunes plugin screen. Nothing happens.

Was wondering if anyone can shoot me some help? Cuz I am sitting here with an iphone that isnt jail broken! :dft007:angry

Thanks in advance.

Use redsnow. Something went wrong along the way, so it will need to be restored and then properly jailbroken. If iTunes is recognizing it in recovery mode (connect to iTunes image on phone), just restore. If it is not, you'll need to put it in DFU mode (black screen on iPhone) to restore. You want it on 3.0.1 before you jailbreak. But to jailbreak with redsn0w, you'll need to use the 3.0 IPSW (it's similar enough to 3.0.1 that it works and you'll stay on 3.0.1). Make sure you download the proper IPSW file, you want this one, 3.0.1 (3GS): iPhone2,1_3.0.1_7A400_Restore.ipsw (http://appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite.net/content.info.apple.com/iPhone/061-6976.20090731.Vgbt5/iPhone2,1_3.0.1_7A400_Restore.ipsw) I recommend installing Icy as well.
