i'm a super newb. if i posted in the wrong section, mods/admins please move me to the appropriate place.
i've been out of the car audio loop for a LONG time. the last head unit i bought was back in 2000. it's time to upgrade, but i don't even know where to start.
i'd like to do what the guy in the below pic did. i want to use an iphone or ipod touch as a standalone head unit.

i have found a couple of ideas out there.

i like the scosche set up since it has the retractable aspect already built into it, but the speaker issue mucks it up a bit. basically i would be buying it for the sole purpose of housing/securing the iphone/ipod touch.
does anyone out there make a single DIN iphone/ipod touch mount?
